European Energy Innovation magazine is exactly what it sounds like – a publication about sustainability R&I in Europe.
To be specific, EEI is a longstanding quarterly 'freesheet' about the tangible solutions to Europe's energy challenges, with an interdisciplinary focus that bridges sectors, technologies and perspectives.
Its authors represent policy, industry and research at the highest levels. Its readership is engaged and diverse. And its unique print circulation reaches key spaces all over Europe – from laboratories and workshops, to offices and boardrooms.
EEI is an independent publication and celebrates its 15th year in 2025.
What can I read in EEI?
See for yourself. European Energy Innovation is a free-to-read magazine online as well as in print, and our back catalogue – beginning in 2010 – is available to non-subscribers. Registered readers receive the digital edition every three months alongside a curated selection of premium features in between issues.
EEI's technology-agnostic editorial approach gives its audience a quarterly digest of the green transition, alongside technical deep dives into a selection of specific topics. Each edition of the magazine addresses Europe's whole sustainability research ecosystem – from renewables to mobility, efficiency to storage – while also providing uniquely authoritative insights into current affairs.

Founded in 2010, European Energy Innovation is now the leading magazine of its kind. It is a free-to-read publication funded by adverts and paid-for placements, which allow it to reach its large and varied audience.
It is a popular dissemination partner for researchers and offers affordable communication packages to Horizon and LIFE projects. As well as scientific consortia, EEI works directly with industry to platform thought leadership and policy positions. EEI's unique audience is available to elected representatives (national and EU) on request.
